Below we have highlighted what you can expect on an HVAC service call, as well as some frequently asked questions about heating and cooling service calls…
What Is A Heating/Cooling Service Call?
An HVAC service call is made when the homeowner thinks their HVAC system is not running correctly. A Logan Services technician will come out and check the effectiveness, safety, and cleanliness of the heating and cooling system. The service technician will diagnose the system to find the root of the issue and then make recommendations on a repair resolution for those HVAC problems. Any repairs that require a quote for HVAC repair cost will be provided prior to any work being done.
Why Do I Have To Pay For A Service Call?
As with many service calls for a number of home appliances, there is a fee for the HVAC Service Call. There is a fee for the service visit to your home, which includes a thorough inspection of your system from a certified and skilled Logan Services service technician. The HVAC technician will assess your heating and cooling equipment and provide you with a full diagnosis of their findings. Parts and actual HVAC repair costs are not covered under this charge unless you are still covered under your parts/labor warranty. If a significant repair must be made to the system, our technician will provide you with that information, along with a quote for it, before they move forward with the work.
What Do I Need A Service Call For?
You may need or want to schedule a service call if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Inconsistent heating or cooling
- High utility bills
- Rattling, grinding, or screeching noises
- Detection of gas
- The system will not turn on or off
- You are worried about the efficiency of your system
- Your system runs, but your thermostat doesn’t reach the desired temperature
If you think you are dealing with any of these issues with your HVAC system, make the call to a heating and cooling professional right away. A Logan Services technician can help assist in diagnosing any number of these situations to help bring comfort back to your home.
How Long Does A Service Call Take?
The length of a service call can vary; it all depends on what the technician finds as the issue with the heating and cooling equipment. Typically, you can expect your service call to take about an hour. However, some service calls may take longer, especially if an HVAC repair or leak search is needed. You can expect your service technician to communicate with you about findings and any additional time that may be needed to properly diagnose the system. We schedule all service calls during business hours starting from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Will A Tune-Up Fix My System?
While often confused as a similar appointment, a heating or cooling tune-up is completely different from a service call. When we come to do a tune-up, our tune-up technicians will check over the system to ensure that it is operating at factory standards. We will make sure it’s clean and working and tune-up effectively considering the season. A tune-up will not allow us the time or the opportunity to diagnose any issues that the system is experiencing. If you have any underlying problems that you might be experiencing with your HVAC system, you are better off to schedule a service call, rather than a tune-up.
