Habitat For Humanity Project: Restoring Home Comfort For Family Displaced By Tornadoes

When 15 tornadoes ripped through the Miami Valley in May 2019, it devastated many of the homes in its path. Old North Dayton was one of the hardest hit neighborhoods, with nearly 30% of its homes and businesses destroyed. It's been almost 2 years now since we experienced the Memorial Day tornadoes, and many families are still dealing with the aftermath.

Logan Services teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton and multiple other organizations to rebuild several homes in the area. Recently, our team installed a brand new heating and cooling system for the Creager family.

Watch the video below to see how Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton and Logan Services helped this family feel comfortable again.

After the tornadoes passed, Christine and Kansas Creager found themselves safe but in a home that had been destroyed. The roof was almost completely gone, holes were in the ceilings, the porch and garage were heavily damaged, many windows were blown out, and the rain that poured into the home caused extensive mold. The home on Macready Avenue was considered a total loss.

The Creager's applied for assistance through the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton, who stepped in and helped this family out with a new home so that they can live safely and comfortably after being displaced for almost 2 years.

On Tuesday, March 16, Christine and Kansas finally go to move into their new home, receiving a WARM welcome home, compliments of Logan Services. The HVAC installation included a new Trane furnace along with a Trane air conditioner; new ductwork was also installed throughout the home.

The Creager's expressed heartfelt joy and gratitude for all the community support. We are proud to have the opportunity to help these homeowners get into a safe home and stay comfortable for years to come.

This local family is the third Habitat for Humanity project that Logan Services has been proud to be a part of and support throughout the years. Learn how we also recently helped a local Vietnam War Veteran, Kenneth Johnson, whose family was dealing with unlivable conditions.
