The origins of Trane began in La Crosse, Wisconsin with a man named James Trane. Mr. Trane was a Norwegian immigrant who created his first heating system in 1885 to combat the frigid winters. In 1910, Mr.Trane went into business with his son, Reuben Trane. Reuben propelled the Trane company towards recognition and life-long success with his 1923 invention of the convector radiator.
