Congratulations to Kayleigh Grippa from Huber Heights!
Kayleigh has been teaching fourth grade special education for seven years and has recently taken on new leadership opportunities at the school where she teaches. In March, she purchased her first home in order to be closer to her work. Although the house she bought has already had many recent updates, the heating and cooling system was not included in that list. So, as a new homeowner, when her air conditioner stopped working and clearly needed to be replaced, it was difficult to imagine being able to afford a new unit.
Kayleigh’s father, Drew, had purchased a new heating and cooling system from Logan Services this past November. When he received an email announcing the launch of our 9th Annual A/C Giveaway, he decided that it would be a great opportunity to nominate his daughter. He was worried about Kayleigh having to take on these types of projects as a first-time homeowner, and he hoped that she could experience home comfort with a new Trane air conditioner, just as he was in his own home.
In his entry, Drew told us, “My daughter is a school teacher and just purchased her first house in March. Her current air conditioner appears to be reaching the end of its useful life. Given the age of the system I am assuming repairs will not make financial sense. Further, having just purchased the home she might not be able to afford a replacement, let alone a premium system like a Trane unit, like the unit I had installed last fall. So winning this giveaway would be a Godsend.”
Kayleigh and her dad were in disbelief when we called out to give them the news. Soon everything was arranged to have the new air conditioner installed. Now, with school starting up next week, we’ll be sending this teacher ‘back to school’ with a new air conditioner for her home. Without having to worry about her air conditioner, she will be able to take on even more opportunities at both her school and her home.
