Bringing Home Comfort To A Family Who Took Action

Surprise! The fun isn’t over yet…we are excited to announce that we have a SECOND WINNER for our 9th Annual A/C Giveaway!

With so many people in need after the severe weather struck our region, our team at Logan Services decided to give away not one, but two free air conditioners to families in need.

Congratulations to Chris and Courtney Willis in Dayton for being chosen as winners of a free air conditioner!

Chris and Courtney’s home had been severely damaged by the Memorial Day tornadoes. Their roof and siding had been damaged, trees were knocked down, windows were shattered, and a car was totaled. On top of that, their air conditioner had stopped working, now relying on window A/C units to keep their family of six comfortable through this season.

Courtney had been sorting through emails for important information following the devastation when she happened across the email from Logan Services announcing the last chance to sign up for the 9th Annual A/C Giveaway. She decided that there was no harm in trying, so she entered the contest. However, she chose not to enter for herself. Instead, she chose to nominate her husband.

In her entry, Courtney told us, “My husband is the hardest working man I know… He is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He sacrifices his own sleep constantly to help others. We were affected by the Memorial Day tornadoes. Before he even had our own home cleaned up he was helping others who needed it more than us.

When disaster strikes the community you have called home all of your life, you can’t help but want to do your part. That is exactly what Chris did. As soon as the winds stopped he was out clearing roads and paths in his Northridge neighborhood with his chainsaws. Though they were without power for ten days following the storms, he helped make sure that the power company would be able to reach them when the time came for them to restore it.

When something like this happens, it can feel as if hope is lost. So when people come together to help each other, they do more than restore the roads. They restore hope. Chris, Courtney, and their children have a lot of pride in their community, and their dedication shows.

Chris and Courtney’s home is only a few miles from the Logan Services Dayton office. Knowing that they had suffered so much damage and had put in so much effort to help their community, our team knew that it was time to do our part to help our neighbors.

When Courtney found out that they had won, she could hardly believe it. We visited her home to gather our installation details and learned, once again, that we would be pairing the new air conditioner with the family’s old, incompatible furnace. To do the job right, we knew we needed to make another call to our great partners at Trane. The decision was easily and quickly made to provide this family in need of a FREE FURNACE as well, in addition to the new air conditioner. We were so excited to provide a full heating and cooling system for Courtney and Chris’ home at no charge to them.

The family was so joyful when our team came to do the installation. You could tell that they were delighted to have another project checked off their list. We are so appreciative for the opportunity to help this family find total home comfort for many years to come! Thank you again, Courtney, for sharing your story with us and welcoming us into your home!

Congratulations from all of us at Logan A/C & Heat Services!
