It was a devastating moment the day Logan Services lead generator, Debbie Rhoads found out her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After the fleeting thoughts of sadness, anger, and fear had passed, Debbie realized she now had to do her part to help her mom, and the millions of women who suffer from this deadly disease.

After giving it some thought, Debbie realized she could fulfill her life-long goal of completing a marathon to help raise money to find a cure. Debbie found out about a breast cancer awareness 3-day/60-mile walk (that’s more than 2 marathons) in Cleveland, OH. She knew it was something she had to do, and at her own pace she did it! Debbie says she realizes she is only five feet tall, but she feels blessed that she was healthy enough to participate in the walk.

While preparing for the event, Debbie made a necklace including the names of 120 friends and family members who have suffered from breast cancer. Debbie says she found strength she didn’t even know she had during the special event when remembering these individuals.

Debbie walked across the finish line with many friends and family members including Logan Services who sponsored her effort. During her final steps she was cheered on by her mother, her inspiration to begin.
After three days of walking you better believe there were blisters, but Debbie says treating a few blisters is the least she can do if a treatment for breast cancer can soon be found.
