Children are one of the sweetest blessings any family can receive. This summer Amber and Preston Shawen welcomed a new baby boy into their family. After just a short time of getting to know their son, the Shawen’s lost their 2-month old baby due to meningitis. An unknown organism caused blood clots and swelling in baby Ethan’s brain. This terribly tragic situation has caused much pain and grief in the Shawen household.

Logan Services met the Shawen’s through Logan’s online contest for a free furnace giveaway. Amber signed up knowing her life’s priorities have changed so much since becoming a parent. Having a heated home this winter is more important than many other items on the “wish list.” In October, Amber and her family were chosen to win the free furnace.

The Shawen’s will be enjoying warm cozy comfort in their home this winter, but it is the warmth and stability of love that keeps this family strong. They enjoy raising their two year old daughter, Allie. Both Preston and Amber agree that Allie is a ray of hope and the glimmer of happiness in each and every day. Baby Ethan will forever be remembered, and the family looks forward to watching Allie grow up strong and healthy.
